2. Flights!!

Heipsan teille!
 
Apuaaaa mä varasin lennon Helsingistä Hampuriin!! Lähtö on 1. päivä maaliskuuta aamulla ja oon jo ennen puoltapäivää perillä. Yksi välilaskukin löytyy matkan varrelta, koska suoria lentoja ei ollu ku Finnairilla, jolla ne makso satoja euroja enemmän ku muualla. Mutta ei se mitään, täristen innolla odotan! Tuntuu, että tää iskee oikeesti nyt vasten kasvoja, ehdottomasti silleen hyvällä tavalla. En vaan voi uskoa että viiden viikon päästä on muutto!!
 
Jonkun verran on hommia järjestettävänä vielä ennen lähtöä. Onneksi aika helpoksi tää homma on loppujenlopuksi tehty, eli mun koordinaattorit Suomen ja Saksan päissä auttaa mua tosi paljon. Eli missään vaiheessa en jää yksin asioiden kanssa.
 
Mähän siis asun Hampurissa sellasessa solukämpässä, ja näillä näkymin mulla on kaksi kämppistä ainakin alussa. Mullehan siis oli tää asunto siellä jo valmiina, eli mun ei missään välissä tarvinnut stressata niitä asumiskuvioita. En vielä yhtään tiiä millanen se kämppä on! Mulla on oma huone ja jaan keittiön ja kylpyhuoneen kämppisten kanssa.
 
Mut itseasiassa lisättiin meidän Hampurin vapaaehtoisten Facebook-ryhmään ja siellä otin myös yhteyttä mun toiseen kämppäkaveriin. Kerroin itsestäni, milloin muutan sinne ja muuta mukavaa. Tää mun kämppis oli aivan ihana, hän lupasi soittaa mulle ensi kuussa videopuhelun ja samalla nään sitä kautta sitten miltä meidän kodissa näyttää! Oikeesti, tuli niin hyvä fiilis kun tiiän et mulla on siellä hyvä vastaanotto ja ainakin yksi kaveri! Mähän nyt muutenkin oon hyvä tutustumaan uusiin tyyppeihin ja sosialisoitumaan, eli kavereita uskon että tuun saamaan paljon. Oikeestaan mun EVS-koordinaattori myös lupas, että jo heti ekana viikonloppuna nää muut vapaaehtoiset järkkää mulle jotain ohjelmaa tai tutustumista.
 
Wow, mulla on niin uskomaton fiilis! Tekis mieli kiljua ja huutaa ihan vähän ja tirauttaa pari onnen kyyneltä.
 

 

 

Hiiii!
 
I just booked a flight from Helsinki to Hamburg!! I will leave on March 1st in the morning and I'll arrive before midday. I have one stop on my flight, because there were straight flights only in Finnair, where they cost hundreds of euros more than in other places. But it doesn't matter, I am soooo excited! I feel like I'm realizing this right now. I just can't believe that I'm going to move in five weeks!!
 
There's still some things to organize before I leave. It's my luck that this is pretty easy, I mean that my EVS-coordinators in Finland and Germany help me a lot. I am not alone with my feelings and things.
 
When I'll move, I live in a shared flat, and my coordinator in Germany said that at first I will live with two flatmates. This apartment was ready for me there, so I didn't need to stress about these things. I have no idea how the flat is like! I have my own room, but I'll share the kitchen and bathroom with my flatmates.
 
Actually my coordinator added me to a Facebook group with all the EVS-volunteers in Hamburg. I contacted my flatmate there. I told about myself, when I will move there and so on. This flatmate was awesome, he promised to call me a video phone call next month and he'll show me our flat! Really, that made me feel so good because now I know I'm welcome there and I have at least one friend there already! I am social and good at meeting new people, so I'm sure I will have much friends there. Actually my EVS-coordinator told me that in the first weekend my co-volunteers may be organizing something to do for me.
 
Wow, this feeling is awesome! I feel like I want to scream, shout and cry a little bit because of the happiness.

1. Presentation and what's EVS

Moikka kaikille!
 
Mä olen Tanja, 18-vuotias naisenalku Helsingistä. Minut on valittu vapaaehtoistyöntekijäksi Saksaan. Mä muutan sinne maaliskuussa 2016. Työni on hoitaa kehitysvammaisia ihmisiä. Tämä blogi kertoo lukuisten kuvien kera vuoden ajan mun elämästäni Hampurissa. Tuun kertomaan tänne enemmän tai vähemmän säännöllisesti arjestani ja työstäni. Ennen lähtöäni kerron myös hakuprosessista ja annan vinkkejä siihen, miten tulla valituksi EVS-vapaaehtoistyöprojektiin.
 
Tulen myös kirjoittelemaan tänne muista matkoistani ulkomaille. Eli jos matkustaminen ja ulkomailla asuminen kiinnostaa, jää toki lukijaksi! Tai jos Saksan kulttuuri ja kieli on lähellä sydäntäsi, on tää hyvä blogi sulle.
 
Mikä on EVS?
 
European Voluntary Service eli EVS on 18-30-vuotiaille eurooppalaisille aikuisille tarkoitettu projekti, jossa pääsee tekemään vapaaehtoistyötä haluamansa alan parissa hakemassaan EU-maassa. Päästäkseen vapaaehtoistöihin, ei tarvita erityistä ammattiosaamista tai -kokemusta. Etusijalla on nuoret aikuiset, joilla ei ole opiskelu- tai työpaikkaa. EVS-projektiin ei ole erityistä osallistumismaksua. Työpaikkoja on tarjolla lähes jokaisessa EU-maassa ja töitä löytyy useilta eri aloilta.

I am Tanja, an 18-year-old woman from Helsinki, Finland. I'm chosen to work as a volunteer in Germany. I will move there in March 2016. My job is to work with disabled people. This blog tells of my life for one year in Hamburg with lots of pictures, too. I will write here less or more regularly about my job and other stuff. Before I leave, I'll tell more about the process and applications too and I will share some tips with you how to get into EVS volunteer working project.

What's EVS?
 
European Voluntary Service aka EVS is a project for 18-30 years old European adults, where you can work as a volunteer in the line of work you want in the EU-country you selected. To get into volunteer working, you don't need any special skills or experiences. The first priority is young adults without a job or ongoing studies. There's no participant payments for this project. There are places to work in almost every country in the EU and jobs in many different lines of business.
